As the name suggests our business started of as a baby clothes store. The store was first opened in 1982 by our father the late Rashid Ahmed Rajah. It was his dream to own a small business of his own. His constant prayer was "Allah must give me a small shop."His prayers were answered and Kings Baby Centre was born.
As time went the business had to change from baby wear to a hawker business. As Johannesburg had a lot of people selling in the streets (Hawkers). My dad saw the need and adapted his business to cater for them.In the nineties, when apartheid was abolished. The import markets were opened. We began selling China bags as it became easier to import. KBC became synonymous with China bags. We stocked everything for the hawker trade.
